When I unwrapped my Cuisinart Ice Cream Machine I found a crack in the base about an inch or so from the gear. Looks like a pressure crack and doesn't seem too serious so I haven't returned it. I used it for the first time tonight and the ice cream was delish! Only problem...and I followed the recipe to a "T", was I set the timer on the stove to let the ice cream blend for 20 min. I should have stood there towards the end and kept an eye on it because...the ice cream swells up and it had run over the top of the freezer bucket and all down inside the machine and all over the counter. It was a mess!! Now I looked at it when it had about 5 min left to go and it was fine..so that last 5 min was the culprit, (directions do say 15-20 min) but besides the mess the ice cream was heavenly. I made the Fresh Strawberry flavor. Can't wait to make the Butter Pecan. I bought my granddaughter one of these for Christmas and couldn't wait to get my own!!

With 5 teenage children this gets a lot of use! We have had this machine almost a year and we use it at least a few times a month. Great conversation and active family involvement after a family dinner.
Use the quick recipes for after dinner desert while you clean up the dishes. Within 1/2 hour you have a wonderful dessert by itself or on the side with birthday cake. I have also made many homemade sorbets with fresh fruit and summer ripe fruits. Add any combo and you have your own creation! We haven't made anything we haven't gobbled up!
